The local business and education sectors joined forces to stage another successful ‘Aspiration Day’ at Sheffield Park Academy.
Held by the academy at its Beaumont Road North site on Friday 26th January, the event saw students from all year groups, as well as their parents, exploring the opportunities available to them post school, with expert guidance on hand from representatives from the business and education sectors, including Russell Group universities.
Also attending the annual careers showcase were students from Sheffield Park’s fellow United Learning academies, Sheffield Springs and Barnsley, taking part in a variety of activities and workshops.
Organisations lending their support on the day included the RSPCA, Army, Police, Henry Boot, Nat West, CMS Solicitors, Counter Context, Santander, Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, Links SSP, DLA Piper, Numill, NCS, Keepmoat Homes, DeHood Boxing, Panjango and Workwise.
Leading universities on hand to give students a taste of the courses on offer included Magdalene College – Oxford, Leeds University, Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield University Medical and Sheffield University.
Commented Sheffield Park Academy’s Executive Principal Craig Dillon:
Our Aspiration Day is now in its fourth year and judging from the initial feedback it is as relevant and popular as ever. We would also like to thank all of the various organizations who have once again lent their support, helping to make the event the success that it is.
