Almost double the number of students enjoy A Level exam success
Students and staff at Sheffield Park Academy are today celebrating their A Level exam results and the opportunities to take up places at University and begin their careers.
The number of students taking A Levels at the Academy has nearly doubled this year, with 47 students successfully completing the exams, with 100% pass rate. In total almost 80 students have successfully completed their Sixth Form this year – its largest cohort ever.
Amongst those celebrating today were:
-
Aiman Shahizam, who has been awarded an A* and 2 As and is the Academy’s highest achiever. Aiman, who has been awarded the academy’s prestigious title of Dux Litterarum, only arrived in the country in Year 9 and is considering offers from Russell Group universities to read Electronic Engineering following a gap year.
-
Natalie Hurt, who has been awarded an A and 2 Cs, is hoping to study English Literature at Sheffield University. Throughout her time at the Academy, Natalie has been involved in performing arts and has been a role model and mentor to younger students.
-
Mohammed Zakaria Razzaque, who has achieved 3 Distinction* in BTEC ICT and is going on to study Digital Media Production at Sheffield Hallam University. Mohammed has flourished in the Sixth Form and his work ethic has paid dividends for him.
Craig Dillon, Executive Principal, said: “Every year we are looking to build our Sixth Form and encourage students to live up to their potential by studying for A Levels and BTECs that will prepare them best for the next stages of their lives. We are very pleased this year that we have almost doubled the number of students taking A Levels and have maintained our standards, so that today students are celebrating accepting places at their first choice universities, with every one of our Year 13 students going onto higher education or apprenticeships. We are ambitious for every student at Sheffield Park Academy and today’s results are testament to their hard work and the enthusiasm and support of staff, who have encouraged them to succeed. Many of those celebrating today have overcome challenges and obstacles along the way and their determination to succeed is admirable”.
