We were delighted to host visits from ZooLab, the animal handling experts, on Monday and Tuesday this week.
ZooLab visited us to run sessions with all our Year 7 students. Each group got the chance to learn some amazing facts about some exotic animals that live in the rainforest and got the opportunity to either hold or stroke the animals! Students were brave, overcoming some nerves when handling the animals and asked some brilliant questions - bringing their learning to life.
Animals included: Millipede, giant cockroach, tortoise, Gecko, snake, tarantulas, tree frog and Degus.
In addition to the Year 7 students, some of our Year 9, 10 and 11 students also spent time with Zoolab as they have expressed an interest in careers linked to animals.
Students learnt fascinating facts such as frogs swallow their food using their eyeballs and cockroaches have 2 brains, one in their head and one in their bum!
We look forward to the next visit and learning about more of these amazing creatures.
