Students will need to have obtained at least 5 Grade 5s or above, including English and Maths.

Core theme

Students must study the following core theme:

  • Development of a deep common core of knowledge, understanding and skills in the sector through mandatory content.

Assessment

Assessment is in the form of 2 x 1& half hour written examinations & two controlled assessments.

Diploma (2 A Level equivalent)

Core units of study

  • Principles of safe practice in health and social care
  • Sociological perspectives
  • Enquiries into Current Research in Health and Social Care

Assessment

Assessment is in the form of 2 x 1& half hour written examinations, x1 3 hours examination & 5 controlled assessments.
