Students are assessed at the end of Year 13 in two examinations, each worth 40% of the full A-Level. A non-examined assessment (NEA), in which students compare themes from two books of their choice, is completed during Year 13 and is worth the final 20% of the overall grade..

What students say:

Studying English Literature has opened my eyes to the incredible complexity of the world around me. I have loved studying and sharing my opinions about the texts on the course, and the NEA has really helped me develop my written argument skills – perfect for university!
